A Person’s True Potential Is Unknown

We are reading the book “Mindset” this week and so far I have learned that there are two types of mindsets people have.  One of the mindsets which can be found on page 6 is a fixed mindset.  It believes that your qualities are carved in stone.  This is saying that if you only have a certain amount of intelligence then that is all you can get and you cannot expand your knowledge.  The other mindset is called the growth mindset.  The growth mindset is based on the belief that your basic qualities are things you can cultivate through your efforts.  This is saying that if you have that same intelligence as the fixed mindset that you believe you CAN expand on to it.  These types of people believe that a person’s true potential is unknown.  I like that last sentence a lot.  It is a quote from the book found on page seven.  I believe that I have a growth mindset and that nobody in this world knows what each and every person is capable of.  When faced with a difficult challenge everyone seems to cope with failure.  Most of these people do end up failing.  I think that if people did start to have an open mind and when faced with a challenge displayed a different attitude towards things then they would have more achievement in life.  When you just cope with failure after a while you are just going to give up.  We need to have a positive attitude towards things.
